It’s 9:00 SomewherePosted: October 1, 2012
I didn’t sleep all that well last night, but I’m blaming it on the unfamiliar surroundings. It’s always hard getting used to a new bed/new room/new sounds. But despite my not-so-great sleep, I was wide awake before my alarm went off at 6am. I feel like knowing that it was already 9am back home was a big contributor of that. It somehow made it a lot easier to get up at that early hour knowing that it was “really” much later. This whole time difference thing is so strange.
I went to the hotel gym first thing this morning, and I was hugely impressed by the room. The Marriot property we’re staying at is nice but somewhat older, and I was expecting the gym to reflect that. Not so, my friends. It had a bunch of treadmills and bikes with large TVs attached, plus a big set of free weights, two nice mats, a big wall of mirrors, and a couple exercise balls. Plus the walls were painted the most awesome shade of red (although it is not very well reflected by my iPhone pictures).
I did this leg workout again; it has become my Monday ritual. I’m thinking next week might be the last time I do this specific plan for a while. I like it, but I feel like it’s time to switch things up a bit.
I’m planning on doing some groceries here later on, but since that hasn’t happened yet, I went down to the hotel breakfast this morning to see what I could find. There wasn’t much to choose from, so I went with a bowl of hot oats topped with a little bit of brown sugar and mini chocolate chips, plus a bowl of melon and a hot green tea. The oats were kind of really watery and weird, but it did the trick. Oh and the addition of the chocolate chips was… awesome.
Day one at the warehouse begins today. Time to get to work!
