Game Time Decision

Lunch: Leftover chicken and zucchini with a pepperjack cheese stick + water (Looks just as gross as it did last night (chicken & pickles, anyone?), but tasted just as delicious!)
Snack: Trail mix (peanuts, raisins, almonds, cashews, and M&Ms – saved for last) + more water
Workout
I made a workout plan for the week last night, but I hemmed and hawed about it all morning long. Given the weather, I felt like there was just no way I could bring myself to do an indoor workout, but I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do otherwise. I knew I didn’t really want to go on a longer run because I didn’t feel 100% and I didn’t want to get stuck feeling awful somewhere away from home halfway through.
Right up until I walked into the gym, I still wasn’t sure what I was going to do, but I decided I would at least start by heading outside to the track. I stashed my bag inside the gym and walked out back and immediately knew I made the right decision – sunny, warm, nice breeze… perfect!!
(I guess I need to dust…)
I started out by walking a lap around the track and then alternating running and walking every lap for two miles. After that, I made a split second decision to bring back something fun I used to do last summer – broke up a circuit and ran 50 yards down the field in between each different exercise. Here’s what it looked like:
Circuit One (3x, 2-3 minutes rest in between):
-
10 Pushups
-
Run 50 yards
-
10 Horizontal X-Jumps
-
Run 50 yards
-
10 Inverted shoulder pushups
-
Run 50 yards
-
30 sec. Plank
-
Run 50 yards
-
30 sec. Superman
Circuit Two (3x, 2-3 minutes rest in between):
-
Run 50 yards
-
10 Prisoner squats
-
Run 50 yards
-
20 Reverse lunges
-
Run 50 yards
-
15 Calf raises
-
Run 50 yards
-
30 crunches
After that, I headed back inside and finished up with the following:
-
15 Standard curls
-
15 Shoulder presses
-
15 Hammer curls
-
10 (each arm) of Julie’s shoulder move
I’m not sure if it was the fact that I didn’t really workout all weekend, or because of how I was feeling, but I was wiped out after this workout today. I’m looking forward to feeling 100% again, because it’s so much better to feel totally dead in a good way after my workouts than it is to feel totally dead in a bad way.
Dinner
When I got home, I opened every single one of the windows in my apartment… and let me tell you, it felt SO GOOD! to be able to cook dinner with the fresh air streaming in! I still can’t get enough of it. Add to that the sun staying out later, and it really makes me realize how close summer actually is!
Dinner was super easy (duh!) – and got to be photographed in natural light… awesome!
{Boneless porkchop (lightly coated in plain breadcrumbs, dipped in applesauce), Annie’s mac & cheese, roasted green beans}
Now, all I can think about doing is sitting on the couch, so I think that’s what I’m going to do! (The dishes can wait…)
Bachelor finale tonight… who’s watching?! I really couldn’t care less about who “wins,” but despite saying I’ll never watch another season, I always get sucked right in. Oh well!!
